Passing Through Customs at ATL Airport Made Convenient with an App

A Digital App to Speed up Immigration at ATL Airport

Atlanta is home to the world’s busiest airport with over 250,000 passengers passing through it every day. A digital application known as Mobile Passport Control has been introduced to speed up customs at the Atlanta Airport. The Mobile Passport Control (MPC) app enables eligible travelers to conveniently upload their travel documents, photos, and customs declaration information through their smartphone.

It helps reduce passport control screening time and overall wait times for entry into the United States. Unlike other programs, the MPC app does not require pre-approval for usage. Travelers utilizing the MPC app no longer need to fill out a paper form and may receive access to a designated queue. It allows travelers to enjoy shorter wait times, decreased congestion, and more efficient processing.

Developed by the US Customs and Border Protection, the MPC app is a complimentary application downloadable via Apple Store and Google Playstore. Eligible travelers can utilize it upon arrival at designated MPC-approved sites. Currently, MPC is available at 48 sites, including 33 U.S. International Airports, 11 Preclearance locations, and 4 seaports of entry. Atlanta Airport is one of the 48 airports in the US that offers this convenience to travelers. Up to 12 profiles can be established for family members within the app. Each authorized MPC ap allows a single household to complete one MPC transaction, including answers to CBP-inspection queries.
