Cultural collaboration brings the spirit of New York’s world-class museums into Terminal 6.

John F. Kennedy International Airport’s upcoming Terminal 6 is set for a cultural transformation, thanks to a partnership with some of New York’s most prestigious institutions, the American Museum of Natural History, the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Museum of Modern Art and Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts.

According to the Port Authority’s latest announcement, the terminal’s arrivals area, dubbed “Museum Row”, will showcase a curated selection of art pieces reflecting New York City’s creative energy. The initiative is part of JFK’s ongoing $4.2 billion redevelopment program designed to elevate the passenger experience.

“We’re honored to collaborate with such prestigious institutions, icons in the global arts community and deeply rooted in the spirit of New York City,” said Steve Thody, CEO of JFK Millennium Partners. “Each installation will celebrate the vibrant cultural heartbeat of New York as we welcome the world to JFK and beyond.”

The art installations will be revealed in 2026, coinciding with the partial opening of the new terminal. Terminal 6 will add 10 larger gates, an extended drop-off area, modern lounges, and updated TSA and baggage systems, transforming JFK into both a transport hub and a showcase of New York’s cultural identity.

Did you know? The upcoming Terminal 6 will blend architecture, art, and technology, turning the airport’s arrivals corridor into a gallery-style welcome experience unlike any other U.S. airport.
