The historic Ghost Town of Rhyolite, a long-abandoned gold mining settlement and the setting for numerous films and documentaries, is standing at the entrance to Death Valley and serves as our first exploration/photo stop on our incredible expedition. Then, as we travel along a lovely winding road, we arrive at Death Valley's eastern entrance. Here, you enter a strange and foreign world of endless desert, vast valleys, harshly sculpted peaks, garish colors, and superbly adapted plants and animals, all of which are visible expressions of geologic time reckoned in millions of years. It is like landing on Mars.
Death Valley is a vast, untamed area that civilization has never tamed. It boasts the driest, hottest temperature conceivable. Observe the valley from Hell's Gate, which is located far higher than the valley floor, and then travel to Badwater, which is 282 feet below sea level. Along with Zabriskie's Point, the Devil's Golf Course, the Furnace Creek Museum, the Salt Lake, the Sand Dunes, and Artists Pallet, we also appreciate their sights and pauses. This journey is a photographer's paradise because to the magnificent mountains, vibrant canyons, volcanic craters, and salt pinnacles. We provide this excursion for the most daring adventurers not only in the spring, fall, and winter but also all through the summer.
