At the Paris Airshow 2025, Bahrain Airport Company (BAC) and Valo Aviation signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), showing Bahrain’s strong commitment to expanding business aviation services by offering infrastructure that supports the unique needs of its partners.
His Excellency Dr. Shaikh Abdullah bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, Bahrain’s Minister of Transportation and Telecommunications, emphasized the importance of developing the business aviation sector as a vital part of the country’s national air transport system. He noted that Bahrain aims to create a highly competitive and modern aviation environment that attracts global investment and boosts the national economy in a sustainable way.
He also highlighted that dedicated infrastructure for business aviation, like private jet hangars and advanced support facilities, strengthens Bahrain International Airport’s (BIA) position as a flexible, efficient hub. The agreement with Valo Aviation reflects growing trust from specialized international companies and is part of a broader effort led by the Ministry of Transportation and Telecommunications and Gulf Air Group (GFG) to improve Bahrain’s aviation sector.
The agreement was signed in the presence of His Excellency Dr. Shaikh Abdullah. Mr. Jeffrey Goh, CEO of Gulf Air Group (GFG), and Ms. Hanna Hakamo, CEO of Valo Aviation, signed the MoU on behalf of their organizations.
Under the agreement, Valo Aviation will build a dedicated maintenance and repair (MRO) hangar for business jets on a 6,000 square meter site at Bahrain International Airport. The project will follow strict technical and safety standards and is part of Valo Aviation’s plan to grow its MRO operations in Bahrain, helping the company achieve long-term efficiency and reliability.
Mr. Khalid Hussain Taqi, Chairman of Gulf Air Group, said that this partnership fits perfectly with GFG’s strategic plan to strengthen Bahrain’s reputation as a key regional center for specialized aviation services. He stated that developing top-level aviation infrastructure is essential to attract private investment and meet future demand. He also welcomed Valo Aviation’s investment as a strong sign of growing trust from international operators in Bahrain’s business-friendly and well-regulated environment.
Jeffrey Goh, CEO of GFG, added that this MoU is an important step in the growth of business aviation at Bahrain International Airport. He said that BAC’s efforts to offer infrastructure designed specifically for their partners’ needs shows their long-term commitment. This initiative supports Bahrain’s overall airport development goals and strengthens its position in the global aviation market.
Valo Aviation’s CEO, Ms. Hanna Hakamo, praised Bahrain’s excellent geographic location and its focus on growing the aviation industry. She said this new hangar is not just a major step forward for Valo Aviation’s operations, but also a long-term investment that contributes to the overall growth of Bahrain’s business aviation sector.
