Older Guides May Be Wrong

Cancun’s airline list changes often. If another website sends you somewhere different, check these common mix-ups.

Spirit and Magnicharters

Both stopped flying in 2026, so you will not find them in the table above. Older lists still show them.

Sunwing

Now part of WestJet. Its former Cancun flights are listed under WestJet in Terminal 4.

Lufthansa and others

Lufthansa’s former Cancun flights, Interjet and Thomas Cook no longer operate as older guides list them.

What About Terminal 1?

Terminal 1 is closed to scheduled airlines while it is rebuilt and expanded. It is expected to reopen gradually in the second half of 2026, and some airlines may be moved there when it does. Private and business jets use a separate FBO terminal, not Terminal 1. Check your terminal again before you travel.

How to Change Terminals at CUN

A free shuttle bus links Terminals 2, 3 and 4 roughly every 10–15 minutes from marked stops outside each terminal. Never pay anyone for the transfer between terminals.

Step 1

Collect bags

You will usually need to pick up your luggage first.

Step 2

Clear customs

Entry rules depend on your nationality, so check them before you fly.

Step 3

Take the shuttle

Use the free bus from the marked stop outside the terminal.

Step 4

Check in again

Then clear security in the new terminal.

Allow plenty of time. A terminal change is a full re-entry process, not a short walk. Book a long layover, or a single ticket, if your flights use different terminals.

In Every Terminal (2, 3 and 4)

Free Wi-Fi

Currency exchange & ATMs

Restaurants & bars

Duty-free shops

Pick the terminal first, then add what you need.

Pay-per-use lounge

A single-use pass for a seat, food, Wi-Fi and, where offered, a shower. Check which terminal the lounge is in.

Find a lounge

Meet & Greet

Personal help at the airport, booked for a single trip. Useful if you are arriving in a new terminal or travelling with family.

Private transfer

A pre-booked private ride. Your driver waits at the terminal where your flight lands, so give them your terminal.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Check your boarding pass or airline app first. You can also look up your airline in the A–Z table on this page. Airlines sometimes switch terminals, so the airline’s own notification is the final word.

All three use Terminal 3, along with Air Canada, British Airways and Iberojet.

Terminal 4, together with Sun Country and Breeze. The US low-cost airlines do not use Terminal 3.

Aeroméxico is listed in Terminal 4. A few guides place its domestic flights in Terminal 2, so check your boarding pass if you are flying within Mexico.

Both use Terminal 2, together with Copa, Avianca, LATAM and TUI.

Older guides place Spirit in Terminal 3, but the airline stopped flying in 2026, so it is not in the current list. If you hold a Spirit booking, contact the airline about your options.

Not for scheduled flights. Terminal 1 is being rebuilt and expanded, with a gradual reopening expected in the second half of 2026. Some airlines may move there, so check your terminal before you travel. Private jets use a separate FBO terminal.

Yes. A free shuttle bus links Terminals 2, 3 and 4 roughly every 10–15 minutes from marked stops outside each terminal. Never pay anyone for the transfer between terminals.

Allow plenty of time. You will usually need to collect your bags, clear customs, take the shuttle, check in again and pass security. If your flights are on separate tickets, leave an even bigger buffer. A single ticket gives you more protection if you miss the connection.

Terminals 2, 3 and 4 all have lounges after security. Terminal 4 is the newest, opened in 2017, with immigration e-gates, a food court and duty-free shops. Terminal 3 also has e-gates, restaurants and bars. You cannot choose your terminal, since it depends on your airline.
