Hong Kong International Aviation Academy and CAFUC Launch Cadet Pilot Training Agreement

Hong Kong International Aviation Academy (HKIAA) and the Civil Aviation Flight University of China (CAFUC) have formed a new partnership under a framework agreement signed in Beijing on May 26. This gives HKIAA cadet pilots more ways to complete their flight training and boosts aviation talent development in both Hong Kong and Mainland China.

The signing was witnessed by Han Jun (Deputy Administrator of the Civil Aviation Administration of China) and Victor Liu (Director-General of Hong Kong’s Civil Aviation Department). HKIAA President Simon Li and CAFUC President Guan Lixin officially signed the agreement.

This is the first formal agreement between HKIAA and a Chinese civil aviation university overseen directly by the CAAC. It will bring Hong Kong and Mainland training programs closer together to meet the growing demand for aviation professionals.

Both HKIAA and CAFUC are now officially certified as Flying Training Organizations under Hong Kong’s CAD 509(A) regulations. They will share resources and expertise, and aim for mutual recognition of pilot licenses between Hong Kong and Mainland China.

Simon Li, HKIAA’s President, said the partnership supports the goals of China’s “14th Five‑Year Plan for Civil Aviation Development,” which emphasizes growing a professional aviation workforce. He called this agreement a strong step forward toward that mission.
