Find Out Which Airlines Use Which Terminals in Los Angeles Airport (LAX)

LAX has 9 different areas where you can catch your flight. If you're tired or in a hurry, the distance between these areas can be quite long. But don't worry! You can use free shuttles that go between the areas every 10 to 15 minutes. To catch one, go to the lower level (where arrivals are) and find the blue sign that says "LAX Shuttle & Airline Connections" in front of each area. Look for the "A" Shuttle for Airline Connections. Los Angeles Airport Terminal 1

LAX has invested $477.5 million to expand Terminal 1, creating a new section in what was once an open area. This extension includes the Terminal Vertical Core, linking the building to a walkway leading to the future CTA Center Automated People Mover Station. The project also adds a bus port, more ticket counters, baggage carousels, restrooms, and a relief area for service animals.

Note: Passengers checking in at Terminal 1 for certain airlines will be bused to Terminal B (Tom Bradley International West Gates) for departures and arrivals.

LAX Airport Terminal 2

At Terminal 2, there have been changes in gate assignments. Gates 20-28 are now integrated into Delta's new Terminal 3 complex. Passengers can access these gates from Terminal 3. However, WestJet customers can still check in at Terminal 2 and reach their gates through Terminal 3.

Terminal 3 at Los Angeles Airport

At Terminal 3, there's a new concourse with 11 gates, and additional concessions and retail outlets are on their way.

LAX Terminal 4

Terminal 4 is currently undergoing a significant $1.6 billion modernization alongside Terminal 5. The upgrade includes the development of a unified departure hall and a new south concourse in Terminal 4. This new space will feature expanded hold rooms, additional concessions, restrooms, and a bus gate serving both domestic and international traffic. Improvements are also planned for the north concourse and Terminal 5.

• American Airlines 
• For American Airlines, the check-in can be done at Terminals 4 and 5. Flights depart from Terminals 4, 5, and Terminal B. International arrivals for American Airlines are at Terminal B.

Los Angeles Airport Terminal 5

Terminal 5 is now the hub for JetBlue and Spirit, along with some American Airlines flights and the bus to the American Eagle terminal. A recent $229 million upgrade has brought 19 fantastic dining and shopping choices, a bigger ticketing lobby, additional security screening points, and shiny new baggage carousels.

• American Airlines (Check-in is available at Terminals 4 and 5. Flights depart from Terminals 4, 5, and Terminal B, while international arrivals are handled at Terminal B.)

LAX Airport at Terminal 6

Terminal 6 is set for a makeover as part of a $230 million modernization project that started in early 2021. This project aims to provide more room for passengers and introduce upgraded technology to the building. It follows two earlier projects in the 2010s that renovated the ticketing lobby, bag claim, and concourse areas.

Terminal 7 at LAX Airport

Terminal 7 underwent a substantial $546 million renovation project, finished in early 2019. The renovation included an enlarged ticketing lobby, upgraded security screening checkpoints, improved seating with additional charging stations, and the addition of the luxurious United Club Terminal 7 Lounge. Currently, efforts are in progress to link the terminal to the upcoming Automated People Mover.

Los Angeles Airport Terminal 8

Terminal 8, a comprehensive $546 million renovation project, was successfully concluded in early 2019. The project encompassed various enhancements, such as an expanded ticketing lobby, improved security screening checkpoints, upgraded seating with additional charging stations, and the introduction of the upscale United Club Terminal 7 Lounge. Presently, efforts are in progress to establish a connection between the terminal and the future Automated People Mover.

LAX Airport International Terminal (Terminal B)

The Tom Bradley International Terminal (TBIT) in LAX is an international hub that has millions of travelers visiting it every year. In 2013, an incredible $1.9 billion modernization project was presented, making it a global-standard experience. West Gates (Gates 201-225) saw an impressive new $1.73 billion facility opened in May of the same year, with advanced technology and innovative designs included within it as well.
