The TSA, which is like the airport security team, made a list of the weirdest things people tried to take on planes in 2023. They checked a huge number of people, 858 million to be exact, and found some really odd stuff in their bags. The list has things like Naruto throwing knives, fake rockets, a knife hidden in keto bread, meth in crab boil seasoning, a projectile in Charlotte, a hidden knife in a prosthetic foot in Alaska, a fully loaded gun in New Orleans, an improvised explosive device (IED) CO2 cartridge in Sacramento, weed in a diaper in New York, and a fake bomb in a Bang Energy drink in Tulsa.
The craziest find was the fake bomb in Tulsa, hidden in a drink. The TSA joked about it not being a great way to start the day. But putting jokes aside, on January 10, the TSA shared that they stopped over 6,700 guns at security, and a huge 93% of them were loaded. Surprisingly, 2023 set a record for the most guns found in one year.
