Dubai is getting ready to launch its first flying taxis in 2026, making it the first city in the world to offer commercial air taxi service. These small electric aircraft will take off and land vertically, just like helicopters, connecting key parts of the city, starting with Dubai International Airport (DXB).
Fast, Clean, and Futuristic
These air taxis will carry one pilot and four passengers, flying up to 200 mph. A trip that currently takes 45 minutes by car, like from Dubai Airport to Palm Jumeirah, will be cut down to just 10 to 12 minutes. It’s not just about speed; these vehicles are also 100% electric and produce zero emissions, making them an eco-friendly travel option.

Perfect for Travelers from Singapore
This service will be a game-changer for visitors coming from Singapore, especially those with short stopovers or business trips. Instead of spending time stuck in traffic, you’ll be able to reach your hotel, meeting, or favorite attraction in minutes. The flying taxi stations, or “vertiports,” will be placed in locations like Downtown Dubai, Dubai Marina, and near major hotels and resorts.
Easy Booking and Estimated Cost
Just like a ride-hailing app, passengers will be able to book their flights from their phone. Prices are expected to be similar to premium ride services. For example, a ride from the airport to Palm Jumeirah may cost around 150 AED (USD 40).
When Is It Coming?
The first flights are planned to begin in early 2026. Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority is working with a U.S.-based company to make it happen. The system is already in testing stages, and full service is expected to expand later in the year.
What It Means for the Future?
With this bold step, Dubai is once again proving it’s a leader in smart city innovation. For travelers landing at Dubai Airport, especially from tech-savvy places like Singapore, air taxis offer a fast, green, and exciting way to explore the city.
