Dear Sam,
Passengers who are fully vaccinated with a certification of their vaccination don't need to submit any PCR test to enter Turkey.

Hi. We have one ticket with a layover in Istanbul. But we need to re-check in because of the long layover (13 hours). Can I reload my luggage without leaving the transit area?

Dear Ilya,
You can deal with your luggage while staying in the transit area. In order to leave the transit, you should submit a PCR test and maintain a HES code.

Dear Rizky,
You can cancel your HES code application and make a new one with the correct Info. The HES code details help the government know about your location in case of any Covid risk.

Dear Philip,
Passengers who only have a transit in the Istanbul airport won't be needing a PCR test or any other test as long as they stay in the transit area.

Hello,
We are looking to travel to Turkey for 2 weeks next week. We live in Nigeria. I have 2 doses of the Astra Zeneca vaccine, while my wife is unvaccinated. We are traveling with 2 children under 12. My questions:
1. As I have received 2 doses with a vaccine card as proof, do I need a negative PCR test?
2. Please confirm that a negative PCR test within 72 hours of departure is all my wife needs?
Many thanks

Dear Rotimi,
For vaccinated passengers, a vaccination certificate is enough to enter Turkey. For unvaccinated passengers, delivering a Negative PCR test is a must, the test should be made 72hours at most before landing. When it comes to children below 12, the Covid travel restriction does not apply to them.
Make sure you all apply for a HES code 24hours before landing. Check the following page for more info: https://airport.online/istanbul-airport/en/hes-code.

Dear Anastasia,
In order to explore the city and enter museums and restaurants, you should maintain a HES code that you will receive as a bar code that you should show in order to enter most of the places in Istanbul city.

I had two doses plus the booster with Pfizer, have a EU certificate of vaccination. Do I need a test (PCR or rapid) to board on an international flight from Montenegro to Turkey on Sunday 26?
Do I need to get the HES code BEFORE arriving in Turkey? Thank you

Dear Shakhnoza,
Turkey accepts most of the recognized vaccines, as long as your mother has a certificate for her vaccination she can enter Turkey with no problems. When it comes to the certificate, it's okay if it's in English since it's an international language.

Hello, I wish to travel to Turkey from the France, but have caught COVID. I am fully vaccinated. After my recovery, will I still be subject to a test upon arrival in Turkey? If yes, will I still have to quarantine if my test result is positive? Just asking because people who are fully recovered can still test positive.

Dear Chi-yang,
If you have a recovery certificate next to the vaccine, then you don't need to submit any tests. You can enter Turkey with just these documents next to the HES code.
