Hi! My wife will be transiting through Istanbul airport tomorrow, traveling with Turkish Airlines from Sao Paulo to Oslo. She is fully vaccinated and has the EU certificate. She will not leave the airport. Does she need any test? Thanks, Peter

Dear Peter,
Passengers who have only transit in the Istanbul airport do not
need to submit a PCR test or any other test as long as they stay in the transit area.

Dear Jonathan,
The mandatory things that you need in order for you to enter Turkey are: a COVID vaccination certificate or a PCR test, and a HES code that you can get from the "Turkey Traveler Entry" webform 24h before landing.
Other than that, you will have to check with your flight operator.

Dear Yemal,
Vaccinated passengers don't need to submit any test in order to enter Turkey as long as they hold paper proof of their vaccination for 14 days before traveling. And a HES code that is mandatory to maintain 24h before you land. You can get the code from the following page: https://airport.online/istanbul-airport/en/hes-code

Is PCR test still required for domestic travel for unvaccinated? Any news if there will be no HES code requirement after 30.12.21?

Dear Kat,
The HES code will still be a requirement as long as Covid is still spreading, it is linked to almost everything in Turkey. For unvaccinated travelers, the PCR test is mandatory next to the HES code for domestic flights.

Hi, we are hoping to visit Istanbul (for travel purposes) in March 2022 from Sri Lanka. My wife and I have both got 3 vaccine doses (including the booster) and my 12 year old son had 2 doses.
1. Do we need to show a negative PCR ?
2. Do we need be quarantined for 14 days?
3. Does my 12 year old son have to undergo a PCR test up on arrival at Istanbul (He had 2 doses but not the 3rd/booster) ?
Thank you

Dear Sasa,
As long as your family is vaccinated and you hold a paper proof for your vaccination, then you won't be needing any other requirements other than a HES code for all of the family members.
When it comes to children 12years old and below, the restrictions do not apply to them.
We wish you a safe travel :) .
